Santa Maria Maggiore è Bandiera Arancione del Touring Club Italiano

“Bandiera Arancione” (Orange Flag) is one of the most coveted awards in Italy. Santa Maria Maggiore was awarded for the first time in 2009. In 2018 Santa Maria Maggiore received for the fourth time in a row the “Bandiera Arancione” that recognizes once again the important historical, cultural and environmental patrimony of this resort, as well as the high quality of its hospitality and tourist services.

“Once again this award – Claudio Cottini, Mayor of Santa Maria Maggiore , declared – provides confirmation of the high quality of the tourist offer in Santa Maria Maggiore, as well as the importance of the artistic and environmental patrimony of this territory that our Municipality wants to preserve”.

“Bandiera Arancione” is a special award assigned to little towns and villages by “Touring Club Italiano”, which considers numerous selection criteria – concerning hospitality, accommodation facilities, tourist attractions, environment, etc. – in order to identify sites of excellence in tourism, environment and hospitality.

Santa Maria Maggiore was chosen among 2800 villages in Italy. Only 28 resorts of Piedmont gained this prestigious recognition. Only the 8% of the villages in Italy received the “Bandiera Arancione”. All the villages that received it, however, noticed a great improvement in tourism.

Santa Maria Maggiore is always improving its tourist offer so that you can enjoy here a wonderful holiday!
