Golf Santa Maria – the holes

The course measures 1,600 yards and boasts 9 holes par 29. Discover them below.

HOLE 1

This hole is surrounded by the pinewood on the left side, on the back part and near the green on the right. It is slightly uphill with a narrow green, guarded by a bunker on the front-right.

6 or 7 – Iron

HOLE 2

This hole is immersed in the pinewood and crossed by a road after the teeing ground. It is uphill and a small brook flows along its left side. The green is narrow and guarded by a bunker on the front-right.

3 – Wood or 3/4 Iron

HOLE 3

It is a blind hole surrounded by the wood on all sides and crossed by the concrete stream bed. The green is wider and guarded by a bunker on the front-left.

7 or 8 – Iron

HOLE 4

The hole is slightly downhill and protected on all sides by the wood. Two big rocks are placed in the fairway, a feature of the typical mountain landscape. The wide green is guarded by a bunker on the front-left.

5 – Wood or 5/6 Iron

HOLE 5

This is a sharp dogleg hole with its nearly 90 degree bend to the left at 155m from the tee. Then it continues uphill until the green. Out-of-bounds for the first 50m on the right side; wide fairway with rocks on the right as well as on the left side near the narrow green, which is guarded by a bunker on the left side.

5 – Wood or 6 – Iron, second shot to the green 9 – Iron or PW

HOLE 6

Short downhill hole with raised teeing-ground, surrounded by the wood on the right and on the left side, fairway with rocks, big green. A precise approach shot with backspin is required.

9 – Iron or PW

HOLE 7

Short downhill hole with raised teeing-ground, surrounded by the wood on the right and on the left side, fairway with rocks, wide green guarded by a depression on the front-right. A precise approach shot with backspin is required.

8 or 9 Iron

HOLE 8

This hole is level with wide fairway, out-of-bounds on the left side and behind the green. Wood on the right side. Unguarded green of medium size.

5 Wood or 5/6 Iron

HOLE 9

Short hole with raised teeing-ground, which is situated in front of the mountain stream that crosses the hole. The first shot should enable the ball to cross the stream and reach the narrow area lined with trees that leads to the last green, which is guarded by a bunker on the front-left. A precise approach shot with backspin is required.
